" I want to become a member of the Millennium Fellowship because my journey as a medical student has shown me how deeply a lack of access to adequate healthcare services have impacted the lives of many people around us, I believe that I can gather the skills to positively impact my community and those around me as well as turn the tides on the healthcare system in Africa, This fellowship will help me grow as a leader, amplify these efforts and connect with others who share the vision of building healthier, more inclusive communities "
Millennium Fellowship Project: VOICE
The project is a mental health-oriented programme aimed towards raising awareness on mental health and related issues amongst university students in Nigeria where the topic remains a stigma, We also aim to create safe spaces for students feeling overwhelmed and unable to express themselves and promote healthy stress-coping and life management skills to better aid those in need.
We hope to expand our reach over the years to include other communities in Nigeria especially rural areas, and primary/secondary schools in order to de stigmatise the topic and encourage individuals to be more conscious of their overall wellbeing.
