United Nations Academic Impact and MCN are proud to partner on the Millennium Fellowship. This year, 60,000+ young leaders applied to join the Class of 2025 on 7,000+ campuses across 170 nations. 290+ campuses worldwide (less than 5%) were selected to host the 4,500+ Millennium Fellows.

" "It is believed that climate change is a man made pandemic , and be addressed by man again" it is obvious that we are not safe anymore.......and turning back on climate change will be disastrous for us all, as we all know SDG 13 is very key to all the other goals because climate change can affect Agriculture, life on land, underwater, education, health and more.
Therefore, I will super excited to practice the skills and knowledge again from Millennium Fellowship Program to foster the positive change in society as a change agent. "
Millennium Fellowship Project: Green Initiative
Green Initiative Movement is a student-based initiative at Njala University devoted to cultivating a healthy, just and to achieve Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 2 (Zero Hunger), 3 (Good Health and Well-being, 4 (Quality Education), and 13 (Climate Action) through education, advocacy, and sustainable actions and socially responsible choices. We educate, empower, and mobilize a network of students to become visionary catalysts for sustainable change in their lives, campuses and local communities. We attract a dynamic service-oriented group of people on campus who have an interest not only in the green campus initiatives but in improving their community, build a resilience campus. Our main aim is to tackle the challenges faced by students from Zero Hunger to Climate Action by taking steps to reduce on ecological our carbon footprint and promote harmony between human activities and the natural world capacity building sessions, community outreach, and innovative academic research The Green Initiative Movement aims to create a transformative impact on campus and surrounding communities. By equipping students with the knowledge and tools to address social-economically challenges, we can build a more resilient and sustainable future. This movement outlines a clear path forward, emphasizing education, community engagement, and the implementation of effective solutions. Through the Millennium Fellowship we have laid foundation With your support, we can empower the next generation of leaders to foster positive change for our University Campuses.
About the Millennium Fellow
James AK Kamara is a very friendly and vibrant young man, and an activist, living in Sierra Leone. James is also an educationist, with Higher Teacher's Certificate and has been teaching for the past 6 years now, especially hard to reach areas.
Also, he is currently an Agricultural Engineering student at Njala University, Njala Campus in Moyamba District, Sierra Leone.
James is the one type person that wants to see the world a saw and more better place for all living organisms, he is passionate about climate change, agriculture, education, health, women and children and other emerging issues that requires attention. He has been a civil society activist, a platform he uses to promote issues on education, health, climate change, gender base violence agriculture and more for his community and the country through his organization, friends Ministries and Departments & Agencies (MDAs), private sectors, stakeholders, Youths and the communities involved.
James is also one that has respect for law and order, especially the safe guiding principles in his working environment. He is always eager to learn new things that will help improve his society, ready to meet new people with great mindsets to learn and share his experiences .
