Millennium Fellowship Project: Green Initiative
Green Initiative Movement is a student-based initiative at Njala University devoted to cultivating a healthy, just and to achieve Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 2 (Zero Hunger), 3 (Good Health and Well-being, 4 (Quality Education), and 13 (Climate Action) through education, advocacy, and sustainable actions and socially responsible choices. We educate, empower, and mobilize a network of students to become visionary catalysts for sustainable change in their lives, campuses and local communities. We attract a dynamic service-oriented group of people on campus who have an interest not only in the green campus initiatives but in improving their community, build a resilience campus. Our main aim is to tackle the challenges faced by students from Zero Hunger to Climate Action by taking steps to reduce on ecological our carbon footprint and promote harmony between human activities and the natural world capacity building sessions, community outreach, and innovative academic research The Green Initiative Movement aims to create a transformative impact on campus and surrounding communities. By equipping students with the knowledge and tools to address social-economically challenges, we can build a more resilient and sustainable future. This movement outlines a clear path forward, emphasizing education, community engagement, and the implementation of effective solutions. About the Millennium Fellow
Mohamed Ansumana is a passionate changemaker and Agricultural Entrepreneurship student at Njala University in Sierra Leone. Driven by a deep belief in the power of ideas, he founded the Annual Innovation Challenge and Pitch Contest to give young people a stage to turn their dreams into solutions. His mission is to spark creativity, foster collaboration, and equip youth with the tools to tackle real-world challenges. Through his work, Mohamed hopes to inspire a generation of innovators who will shape a brighter, more sustainable future for Sierra Leone and beyond.
