" "To be the change, we must partake in any social endavour, be it big or small. I know being a Millennium Fellow will not only foster a sense of community belonging and team spirit, but also will give me a platform to provide for others - be it through research or field work. The skills I will obtain through this project will create a long-lasting impact on food security issues faced in communities throughout Indian societies, and will help us get a step closer towards fulfilling principles of UNAI and SGD's" "
Millennium Fellowship Project: Project Aaharasya
Project Aaharasya is a passion project started by 4 college students who created this in hopes to address the problem of food insecurity in Indian communities. Our aim is focused on the need to help and raise awareness on food insecurity, and garner support as well as create awareness in order to ensure people make similar efforts. Our ultimate goal is to create a community which can make contributions towards solving the issue of ensuring good and healthy access to food for all. We recognize that food insecurity, is not just an issue caused by a lack of food, but also a lack of nutritional and healthy food - the absence of this causes long term illness, severe health issues and lifelong issues related to obesity. We hope to directly impact people by helping children access adequate nutritional food, and in turn, create a large community to help with sustained efforts towards the goal. We want to do this by raising monetary donations which can help in providing nutritional food to those in underprivileged settings in the Delhi NCR region, by raising awareness and helping people make their own efforts to combat food insecurity.
