" I believe that education is the most powerful catalyst for lasting social change. Joining the Millennium Fellowship excites me because it offers the chance to collaborate with like-minded change makers, learn from inspiring mentors, and transform my vision of empowering underserved communities into measurable, sustainable impact. "
Millennium Fellowship Project: Project IQRA
A lot of kids in rural areas don’t get the same opportunities to learn as those in cities. In my hometown, Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, I joined the Progressive Youth Welfare Association (PYWA) to help change that. We began by running weekend mentorship sessions in one government school, sharing textbooks, setting up parent workshops, and connecting students with volunteer tutors. Today, PYWA has expanded to partner with three schools and operate two hospitals across three cities in India, addressing both educational and health challenges that keep students out of classrooms. Through mentorship programs, resource-sharing drives, and community awareness campaigns, we support rural students in staying enrolled, improving their grades, and dreaming bigger. I also collaborated with IDIA Delhi to mentor underprivileged aspiring law students, guiding them through entrance exams and application processes. Together, these efforts aim to break the cycle of educational inequality and build a healthier, more empowered generation.
