" The Millennium Fellowship provides you with the resources and platform to actually take a step forward and do meaningful work, which I've always wanted to do but have been too hesitant to start. This fellowship provides you with community, a sense of belonging, and brings fulfillment, which is extremely lacking in today's divided world. "
Millennium Fellowship Project: Project Urja
Project Urja is a mental health initiative focused on community building and overall well-being. The aim is to help people manage mental health challenges and the stress that comes with them, while also spreading awareness that mental health issues are real and deserve attention. The project serves young people aged 15 to 24, mostly students in colleges and universities.
During the fellowship, we set up a “Feel-Good Board” where students could anonymously share positive thoughts, kind messages, or recommendations for songs and shows. Since our college is academically rigorous, many students engaged with this initiative and it brought smiles to many faces. We later organized a webinar with a former PGT, HOD, and educational psychologist with over 30 years of experience dedicated to student well-being. Many students joined the session, where she spoke about managing stress, recognizing the importance of mental health, and understanding the value of early identification of mental health challenges.
About the Millennium Fellow
Vasvi Verma is a 20-year-old law student at National Law University, Delhi. Once an extremely shy child, Vasvi discovered her voice through public speaking, which became her pathway to confidence and self-expression. This transformation led her to pursue law, enrolling with uncertainty but eventually finding her comfort zone in law school. For Vasvi, law serves as a powerful tool for expression and grassroots connection. She is drawn toward the cause of social and gender justice and hopes to make a difference through her education.
