Millennium Fellowship Project: Lifeline: Community Well Being Program
As part of our project, we organised a innovative event on our campus called Secret Box, where the students could put in their mental health related queries into a box anonymously, and later these queries were taken up by our on campus psychologist who engaged the students in a discussion on these queries while also giving her professional opinion, later the students were divided into smaller groups and each group further discuused these queries in their groups, this helped students talk about mental health in safe space without judgement or stigma, the event saw participation from over 70 students. Apart from the on campus event we also collaborated with a local NGO who work with underprivilaged children and conducted a workshop on menstrual health, hygiene and different menstrual products, and also cleared student doubts on on the topic.
About the Millennium Fellow
Avi Kankariya is a bright and intelligent student. He pursued B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) from Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies, School of Law, Bengaluru, Karnataka, India. He resides in Jodhpur, Rajasthan, India. Avi has always been passionate about his advocacies for Social Justice, Environment Law and Human Rights. Avi aspires to be in a professional field in which he can cultivate these advocacies further and provide his own contribution in the development of the United Nations' Sustainable Goals.
