" “What counts in life is not the mere fact that we have lived. It is what difference we have made to the lives of others that will determine the significance of the life we lead.” This is the quote I aim to achieve. As a normal girl, fortunate to have certain privileges to live a healthy life, I came to understand what it feels like to be without them . This awareness stands as the bedrock my passion to work with the United Nations as a fellow, as it provides a meaningful platform to help people in however small way that I can. "
Millennium Fellowship Project: Lifeline: Community Well Being Program
As part of our project, we organised a innovative event on our campus called Secret Box, where the students could put in their mental health related queries into a box anonymously, and later these queries were taken up by our on campus psychologist who engaged the students in a discussion on these queries while also giving her professional opinion, later the students were divided into smaller groups and each group further discuused these queries in their groups, this helped students talk about mental health in safe space without judgement or stigma, the event saw participation from over 70 students. Apart from the on campus event we also collaborated with a local NGO who work with underprivilaged children and conducted a workshop on menstrual health, hygiene and different menstrual products, and also cleared student doubts on on the topic.
