" As inspired by the timeless vision from Nelson Mandela that, ‘Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world’, I am driven by the belief that my legal education is not merely a credential but a profound tool for progress.
The Millennium Fellowship represents the next essential step in this journey-a dynamic crucible where my academic training in law can be forged into tangible social action.
I am driven by the prospect of collaborating with like-minded global leaders to apply our collective knowledge and transform the theoretical power of the law into a practical force for a positive change all over the world. "
Millennium Fellowship Project: Lifeline: Community Well Being Program
As part of our project, we organised a innovative event on our campus called Secret Box, where the students could put in their mental health related queries into a box anonymously, and later these queries were taken up by our on campus psychologist who engaged the students in a discussion on these queries while also giving her professional opinion, later the students were divided into smaller groups and each group further discuused these queries in their groups, this helped students talk about mental health in safe space without judgement or stigma, the event saw participation from over 70 students. Apart from the on campus event we also collaborated with a local NGO who work with underprivilaged children and conducted a workshop on menstrual health, hygiene and different menstrual products, and also cleared student doubts on on the topic.
About the Millennium Fellow
Sneha Goenka a third year BALLB student, at Narsee Monjee Institute of management studies, Bengaluru, Karnataka, India born in Amritsar, Punjab, India. She has not viewed law merely as a profession but a potent instrument of social transformation. Now, in her third year she has transitioned from grasping legal principles to critically analyse how these principles apply to communities and individuals.
Over the past two years, she has sought opportunities outside the classroom to engage with the law's real-world impact. Through her work in various forums, she has sharpened her analytical, leadership, and communication skills. This practical experience is further complemented by her role as the Treasurer of her college’s Publication Committee, where she demonstrates an ability to both engage a large audience and manage the detailed, behind-the-scenes work required to ensure a project’s success.
