" My view of this very prestigious opportunity is that it will serve to me as a platform through which I will be able to connect with like-minded peers from across the world, who will share my enthusiasm towards bringing a change and through this we all will be able to drive collective action for improvement and reforms within and beyond our campuses. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Shravan

My project focused on raising awareness about the deaf and dumb communities by conducting surveys and communicating with my local community to build understanding and sensitivity. I also raised funds, which were then donated to a larger federation that serves deaf communities across India. The project primarily served the deaf and dumb community and contributed to greater community awareness and sensitivity, financial support for deaf and dumb initiatives, and the collection of data that can help in tailoring policies around these communities.

About the Millennium Fellow

Shreeya Singh is a pre-final year student of Mechanical Engineering, with a specialisation in Electric Vehicles, at Netaji Subhash University of Technology, Delhi. Having worked towards mental health awareness issues from a very young age, Singh has developed herself as an empathetic and responsible citizen of the world, who not only observes and feels the environment around her but also strives to work and bring reforms in places that need attention and action. As a Millennium Fellow, she looks forward to diversifying her focus to bring change to a multitude of problems within and beyond her campus, from the Environment to menstrual needs of women.
