Millennium Fellowship Project: Noor-e-Nisa
“Noor e Nisa” is a social impact initiative under the Millennium Fellowship aimed at empowering women through awareness, education, and dialogue on gender equality, self-empowerment, and self-worth. The project creates safe spaces—both in-person and online—for women to share experiences, learn how to earn at home, learn about their rights, and develop confidence to overcome societal barriers. It combines workshops, storytelling sessions, and community outreach to promote emotional well-being and empowerment among women and young girls.
About the Millennium Fellow
Maheen Rao is an 19-year-old student from Pakistan with an unwavering passion for women’s empowerment and gender equality. Deeply committed to creating spaces where women’s voices are heard, she founded Light of Life – Women, an initiative that combines digital advocacy with on-ground action. Through interactive workshops, shelter visits, and online storytelling platforms, Maheen works to equip women with skills, confidence, and resources for a brighter future. Her dedication to social change drives her vision of a society where every woman can thrive, and through the Millennium Fellowship, she aims to expand this impact.
