" I want to become Millennium Fellow as it is one of the ways to serve my society. I have seen children living in slum areas and orphanages and have sensed their mental barriers. My purpose is to help them and there is no better option than providing them an access to education. Once you are awakened mentally, no obstacle can stop you. I hope to help them so that they can make better future for themselves and more people like them. "
Millennium Fellowship Project: Science for Sustainability
"Science for sustainability" is a youth-led environmental education and climate action project. It empowers young students and community members to understand climate change and pollution through basic chemistry and environmental science experiments. Volunteers will be trained as champions to conduct workshops and community outreach, raising awareness and driving local climate-positive actions. The project includes hands-on testing of water quality, microplastic presence, and air pollution particles using affordable, low-tech methods, making science accessible and actionable.
About the Millennium Fellow
Ayesha Ijaz is a final year student of Chemistry at National University of Sciences and Technology who really want to delve into realm of quantum world. She has always been the top student of her class until intermediate level. She faced her first failure then; it was really hard to keep the sanity. However, she has learnt that one cannot succeed without a failure, sooner or later everyone has to go through it. Books really helped her to amend her mind and to gain academic success again. Now, she is very passionate about science and to make impact on society.
