" "I do this work because I believe environmental action is not optional but essential for a just and livable future, and the Fellowship allows me to advance that mission with like-minded change makers." "
Millennium Fellowship Project: Safe Hands, Safety First Campaign
Our project, "Safe Hands: Safety First Campaign," was launched to address critical gaps in workplace safety for construction workers at NUST, aligning with SDG 3: Good Health and Well-Being. We implemented a practical approach beginning with on-site risk assessments to identify prevalent hazards like absent personal protective equipment (PPE) and unsafe working conditions. Based on our findings, we conducted focused safety training sessions in Urdu to educate workers on the proper use and importance of helmets, gloves, and masks. The initiative culminated in the direct distribution of PPE kits and demonstrated correct usage to ensure sustained protection. Through these efforts, we empowered workers with essential knowledge and equipment, fostering a safer and more health-conscious environment.
