" I'm excited to be a Millennium Fellow because it’s a chance to learn, grow, and work alongside others who care about making a real difference. For me, this is about more than just ideas—it’s about taking action to make healthcare more accessible and fair, and using what I know to help create lasting change in people’s lives. "
Millennium Fellowship Project: Pad a Girl Child Initiative
The Pad A Girl Child Initiative is a project dedicated to promoting menstrual health and hygiene, particularly among young girls experiencing their periods for the first time. The initiative aims to educate them about puberty, proper hygiene practices, and to dispel the stigma and misconceptions surrounding menstruation.
Beyond education, the project also seeks to reach underserved communities by providing menstrual hygiene products to girls who cannot afford them, ensuring that no girl misses school or feels ashamed simply because of her period.
