" This opportunity will significantly enhance my mission to help people feel seen, understood, and supported. With the fellowship’s supportive community and resources, I will be empowered to spread the transformative love that every person deserves. I am excited to enhance my operational competence by establishing a lasting network to spread transformative love and support long after the fellowship’s end. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: The Open Book Initiative

I’m working on a student-run zine to spotlight the vitality of accessible education and to support NYC’s libraries, museums, and bookstores through the current budget cuts. Every issue will have interviews with librarians and professors, essays, columns, and/or poems from students and activists, and banned book lists and reviews. The printed issues of each zine will be distributed all over NYC campuses, bookshops, and libraries (to be taken home for free, always… but with an option to donate). All profits made through the donations each copy earns will be donated directly to the libraries, bookstores, or other institutions the issue features. I’m hoping to pair the printed and digital issues with community events (such as banned book clubs or socials) to intensify the impact of my project by getting people talking!
