" I am excited to be a Millennium Fellow because it allows me to connect with peers who share my passion for using research and innovation to address challenges faced by underserved communities. I do this work because I believe inclusive solutions can create lasting impact and open opportunities for those who are too often left behind. "
Millennium Fellowship Project: Bridges to Education
Bridges to Education is a platform we are building to address educational inequality in Ethiopia by offering tutoring in mathematics and social sciences, alongside sessions on
the college application process. Growing up in a developing country where there is immense potential but limited access to resources, we recognize how critical these tools
are for students to succeed. Our inspiration also comes from peers at NYUAD who are tackling similar challenges in their home countries, and I am eager to collaborate with them to exchange ideas and approaches. By the end of 2025, we aim to reach at least 50 students in Ethiopia, providing them with both academic support and pathways to higher education. This project directly aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals of Quality Education (SDG 4), Decent Work and Economic Growth (SDG 8), and Reduced Inequalities (SDG 10).
