" Being apart of the Millennium Fellowship offers a doorway to transform my long-held dreams into reality. This opportunity will allow me to take concrete steps toward ending child hawking and begging, while creating meaningful change in my society. The Fellowship will give me the platform, skills, and collaborative network to bring my ideas to life and help people in ways I have always envisioned. "
Millennium Fellowship Project: N.E.U.R (Network, Empower,Upskill, Reach)
N.E.U.R. (Network, Empower, Upskill, Reach) is a project born from the real struggles of female studentpreneurs at OAU — the constant battle with lack of capital, the pressure of unhealthy competition, the absence of mentorship, and the quiet frustration of watching brilliant ideas die before they even stand. It comes from seeing young women with potential give up because the environment around them is not designed to help them grow. It comes from lived experience — wanting to build something, wanting to thrive, but not having the support, guidance, or community to make it possible.
N.E.U.R. exists to change that story.
It brings young women together in a safe, collaborative space where they can share challenges, learn from one another, and build connections that actually matter. It is designed to empower female studentpreneurs with the tools they need: practical mentorship, upskilling sessions, access to opportunities, a network of peers, and conversations that replace competition with community.
N.E.U.R. believes that when one woman becomes stronger, she naturally strengthens another — skill transfers, confidence grows, businesses expand, and sustainability becomes possible. Its goal is not just to help women start businesses but to ensure they last beyond graduation, so they don’t join the cycle of job overcrowding in Nigeria.
The project also dreams bigger: to build a model that can expand from OAU to universities nationwide — a chain reaction where every empowered woman creates another.
Ultimately, N.E.U.R. is a movement that says: You don’t have to struggle alone. You don’t have to abandon your ideas. You don’t have to shrink. You can network, empower yourself, upskill, and reach further than you ever imagined.
