" I have always been passionate about acquiring knowledge for as long as I can remember. To me, the knowledge gotten from the four walls of a classroom are not adequate in sustaining an individual – one must seek knowledge in their surroundings, amidst friends and through lifting the next person who seem hopeless.
The Millennium Fellowship is the perfect platform for me to extend mental aid to people whose hopes are latent. It aligns with the SDGs which is something I'm working towards. "
Millennium Fellowship Project: I Read, I Matter
This project is an initiative that is meant to be an eye-opener for children around the Ile-Ife area. It will teach them that they can achieve whatever they set their mind to, regardless of societal constraints. During the course of this programme, I plan to collaborate with other people — organising seminars in secondary schools mostly — to reintroduce and elevate the reading culture amongst teenagers. These students would be taught the importance of reading and staying informed in a society that is driven rapidly by information. One of the ways to make this a success is by donating used books to schools thereby promoting quality education in the society. For each outreach programme, we will offer writing classes to interested students to teach them the basics of the art of expression. In all, it is an idea that would bring immense change to the communities I plan to reach.
