Millennium Fellowship Project: Community Outreach Program

This is an outreach program intended to bridge the gap of a lack of proper health knowledge, correct misconceptions and also provide basic free healthcare services in Sagamu rural communities. Its intended services include awareness and health education using the mediums of gatherings, house to house evangelism and posters. It primarily focuses on women, children and the elderly which are the most vulnerable. It also plans to offer basic free healthcare checkup to low-income households who cannot enjoy healthcare due to financial constraints. Such as malaria diagnosis and treatment, blood pressure measurement and counseling. To do this, I will collaborate with other local healthcare providers and organizations such as the Standing Committee on Public Health in my school. With a strong vision, the program seeks to make healthcare accessible in rural areas in my community where there are not often any hospitals or clinics. I call the program the Clinic train as its objective extends beyond a single locality but as many to which it can offer help.
