" I am excited to be a Millennium Fellow because, not only would it enhance my skills in being the leader I seek to be but it would provide the right systems to help me make social impact in a way that brings lasting change. "
Millennium Fellowship Project: The Mindshift Hub
It's very easy to define your future or what you would become by the past, by what circumstances say, the presence or lack of money and not be able to dream as you want to. Youngsters today, especially those who come from a background with not so much to feed on, can't seem to dream and achieve past what they see around.
The project focuses on raising awareness among teenage students to overcome past failures and persevere through difficulties for a brighter future. It uses examples of successful people and mantras to inspire and motivate students. The target audience is secondary school students. During implementation, I was able to reach 200 students at once, though financial limitations restricted additional opportunities, such as scholarships or gifts, that could have further motivated and supported them.
About the Millennium Fellow
Osisanwo Favour is a young and witty clinical medical student at Olabisi Onabanjo University. She was born in Nigeria, resides and studies in the western part of the nation—Ogun State. Right from her childhood days, she had always dreamed about impacting the world on a bigger scale and known that for this to happen, the change must begin one person at a time, beginning with herself. This has inspired her to take up self-development courses to gain knowledge from books and people that would help attain the best version of herself. This is why she aims to give back to her community by bringing the right knowledge for a mindset shift. Due to that she has gained various leadership opportunities that has allowed her to spread the change that she seeks to find in the world; a world where every child has the opportunity to becoming the best version of themselves.
