" "Equity and Inclusion". For me, teaching English is more than grammar, it’s giving voice, confidence, and opportunities. Through this platform, I aim to make learning accessible to everyone while sharpening my leadership for impact and become part of the change the world needs. "
Millennium Fellowship Project: Lexicon – Making Lives Better Through Language
This project focuses on teaching and educating underprivileged children in English. I believe it of utmost importance that everyone should know English as it a Universal language and as it makes communication easier, reducing the risk of misunderstandings when it comes to opinions or suggestions. I would like to host workshops associated with organisations like UI and Satya Sai foundation where I would teach everyone how to learn or better their English skills in a fun way as we all know all things fun are always remembered. I believe it would make each one’s progress into the future slightly easier as I would help eliminate the basic language barrier and they can dream without worrying about being unable to accomplish it. I would also like to touch up on etiquette as I believe it is of utmost importance while conversing or in any social setting. First impressions are always Make or Break and only then does one focus on the others views and beliefs.
About the Millennium Fellow
A A Saanchi Bollamma is a bright and ambitious pre final year Biotechnology student at PES university, Bengaluru, India. She ardently works towards ensuring every kid is able to converse in english and not miss out on any opportunities. She is very vocal about the same as she has seen multiple kids who excel in science and mathematic subjects but are unable to keep up the same performance when it comes to the English language. She has always wanted to give back to the community and believes teaching helps fix this at the grassroot level. A good teacher will always ensure to push you in the right direction and this is her goal in life. To make an impact to the lives of those who have forgotten a lot of their ability to dream.
