Millennium Fellowship Project: Unidentified Decedents Project

It is a thesis research project that analyzes how much genetic genealogy has increases solving unidentified case reports through computer science analysis techniques. It has a custom database that archives public reports of John and Jane Doe cases and uses python and data analysis to conduct results and graphs. These results can increase awareness and advocacy to this unnoticed issue affecting the USA and possibly the world.

About the Millennium Fellow

Sadia Oishika is bright young student at Pace University who is making a first step with her project on genetic genealogy impact on identifying remains. She begun to realize how little is being discussed regarding unidentified remains within police investigation. Using her knowledge on computer science, she begins to make a dataset of identified decedents within the past 7 years to analyze the effectiveness of genetic genealogy on identifying them. With the results, she can highlight and advocate on this topic as it will greatly encourage progress.
