University of the Punjab | Lahore, Pakistan | Advancing SDG 3 & UNAI 1

" I am eager to be part of the Millennium Fellowship because it provides a chance to learn and collaborate with young leaders who are passionate about meaningful change. This experience will allow me to develop my ideas further, benefit from mentorship, and create a greater impact through my work. My project, The Impact of Emotional Intelligence on Life Satisfaction and Mental Well-Being among Undergraduate Students in Pakistan, focuses on addressing the growing mental health challenges faced by youth. I believe emotional intelligence is vital for resilience, academic growth, and overall well-being. Strengthening it can shape healthier individuals who, in turn, build a more compassionate and resilient society. "
Millennium Fellowship Project: Advancing emotional literacy in Higher education
This project aims to understand how emotional intelligence (EI) relates to mental well-being and life satisfaction among university students. Given the increasing academic pressures, social challenges, and future uncertainty students face, mental health struggles like anxiety and low self-esteem have become more common. EI the capacity to recognize and regulate one’s own emotions and respond empathetically to others can be a protective factor in these situations. By conducting surveys and facilitating peer-based workshops, this project will examine how students’ EI levels influence their psychological well-being. Based on the results, the initiative will design practical activities and share helpful resources that improve emotional awareness, self-management, and resilience. The long-term goal is to build emotionally supportive environments within campus life. Through this work, the project not only contributes new data to mental health research but also empowers students with skills that promote lasting well-being and satisfaction in both academic and personal spheres.
