" I'm excited to be a Millennium Fellow because it allows me to explore an idea I don't think many SLPs have considered—replacing plastic therapy toys with reusable, handmade ones from recycled materials. When I volunteered at a rehab institution, I noticed that almost 90% of what they used was plastic, and I'm eager to ignite change toward more sustainable practices in my field. "
Millennium Fellowship Project: SpeechTrack: Digital Bilingual Screening for Preschoolers
SpeechTrack is a digital bilingual (Arabic–English) screening platform that helps parents, teachers, and speech-language pathologists identify early red flags in preschoolers’ speech and language development. As the first platform of its kind in the region, it is designed to be accessible, culturally relevant, and sustainable, making early detection easier for children in Qatar and the Arab world—because earlier intervention means better outcomes.
