Millennium Fellowship Project: Aqua Leap Qatar
Imagine Qatar as a big house with only a small water tank. One of the country’s biggest challenges is its water supply, since it is a desert with no natural freshwater sources. This is where “Aqua Leap Qatar” comes in. Our goal is to make sure taps are used only when necessary. We plan to use smart technology, such as sensors that can detect exactly where and how water is being used or wasted. This would help us quickly fix leaks and make water use more efficient in both homes and businesses.
Alongside the technology, we would run wide-reaching public awareness campaigns and educational programs to show people the importance of saving water and how to do it in their daily lives. By working with tech companies and community centers, we would spread the message and get everyone involved in water conservation.
The aim is to cut water waste, make the most of every drop, and help all Qatari residents use water more sustainably. By reshaping the way people in our community view and use water, we hope to inspire other regions facing the same challenges.
About the Millennium Fellow
Nairah Naseer is an individual full of passion with a strong desire to make a meaningful impact on the world. However, she was not always this way. Growing up, she dreamed of a quiet life in the countryside, earning just enough to live comfortably. Recently, she realised how privileged she is compared to many others her age. This realisation has fueled her determination to contribute to society and work toward creating change, particularly through the lens of the UN sustainable development goals.
