Millennium Fellowship Project: Project Saathi: Spreading Legal and Health Awareness
Project Saathi is an initiative that empowers government school students in underserved communities near Patiala through integrated legal and health education. The project delivers interactive workshops on fundamental legal rights and nutrition awareness while actively monitoring the implementation of the Mid-Day Meal scheme to ensure students receive mandated nutritious food.
Through school collaborations and virtual webinars, Project Saathi simplifies complex legal concepts and promotes health literacy, creating informed young citizens who understand their rights and can make better health choices. By bridging the gap between legal empowerment and nutritional access, the initiative fosters holistic development and sustainable behavioral change, working toward a future where every child is both informed and nourished.

About the Millennium Fellow
Namya Nanda is a dedicated and globally-minded third-year BA LLB (Hons.) student at Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law. Having spent 14 years in the UAE and the last 5 years in India, she brings a cross-cultural perspective to her work. Passionate about social justice, environmental protection, and animal welfare, Namya has volunteered with local NGOs and animal shelters in Chandigarh. Her commitment to advocacy is matched by her strong interest in human rights and community development, which continues to shape her academic and extracurricular pursuits.
