" I believe genuine progress happens only when compassion meets action. My commitment to medicine and community work stems from a conviction that every human being, irrespective of their age, gender, religion or background, deserves access to healthcare, education, and opportunity. I strive not just to heal, but to empower- to serve slum communities, champion inclusive education for the specially abled, and advocate for equity at every level. I hope to inspire others to lead with courage, empathy, and an unwavering belief in a more dignified world for all and I believe Millennium Fellowship is the right platform for the same. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: The Inclusion Project

The Inclusion Project is an initiative targeting the slum dwellers and the specially abled children. Well I've been wanting to do something for both the groups from a long time so I can't really choose just one. When I commute from home to my college, I see these slum dwellers on the way. They live in these houses made of brick walls and roofs of plastic sheets. Living room, kitchen, bedroom all in that tiny space. No ventilation. The kids look malnourished and most of them are not immunized despite being given free service from the government. So I'd like to understand why they are refusing help and spread awareness. As for the specially abled children, I personally know of only two opportunity schools in my city. Majority of the population are unaware of this category of children who require vocational training. They may not be skilled to do hard tasks. However, they could make a living by selling the candles, lamps or bags they make. I'd appreciate help promoting their products and attracting buyers, and also enhance the quality of their education- making it free if possible as not everyone is capable of affording these training programs.
