Millennium Fellowship Project: vanVidya

Our project VanVidya is an initiative to enlighten the lives of indigenous communities ( Both elders and children ) through Education. The initiative aims to fill the gaps in education making learning accessible and inclusive for Indigenous community, bringing them equality in opportunities like every group. We would reach those who have not received formal education. We would educate them with basic formal system, and instill knowledge and capacity for exercising rights, responsibilities, justice, and self-advocacy. Apart from academics, area of focus for VanVidya is the child's holistic development through the inculcation of moral values, leadership, and decision-making skills in the educational process. Our motive is to make them learn about life through better teaching methods, which would help them develop individually as good human beings. That is why, in recognition of the pressing demand for social awareness, our teachings are practical-oriented in nature, taking into consideration matters that pertain to gender equality, cleanliness, environmental protection, child abuse, and child labor, along with imparting comprehension of such legal constructs as the Forest Rights Act and the Scheduled Tribes and Other Traditional Forest Dwellers (Recognition of Forest Rights) Act. In order to amplify our efforts, we stand committed.
