" I'm excited to be a Millennium Fellow because I believe, actions speak louder than words. Creative and bold ideas are what bring a change and stand out. I've seen unjust again women , I envision a place where barriers no longer hinder women and/or marginalized groups and the potential they possess. Through community outreach and innovation we can aim to bridge the educational gaps, as educational us a powerful tool for social transformation.
Being part is this will help me improve or enhance my teamwork , leadership and adaptability. The impact that will be created, align with the UNAI principles and SDGs. I do what I do because this will bring a systematic change and provide an equal future for everyone. "
Millennium Fellowship Project: Anandi: Fulfilled Futures
Our Team's primary focus is going to be Women's Health and Education, while placing extra importance on those women from rural areas. We plan to do so by first understanding the demographic and the issues they face through regular interaction between us and women from less fortunate backgrounds, such as household help, college/institutional housekeeping staff, etc. We would also like to ensure that they work in a clean, safe, and sanitary environment while also ensuring that all their basic necessities are met and provided for in their workplace. Our team would also like to facilitate more opportunities for these women to receive vocational training so that they could further their growth and slowly move towards a more formal working sector. Beyond this, we realise that a lot of women's health issues tend to go unnoticed, and would like to research and educate on the prominent health issues faced by women in India, and take action in ways such as providing labour and pregnancy facilities for less fortunate women. We would also like to break the stigma surrounding menstruation and provide better accessibility to menstruation products to young girls and women.
