Millennium Fellowship Project: Anandi: Fulfilled Futures
Our Team's primary focus is going to be Women's Health and Education, while placing extra importance on those women from rural areas. We plan to do so by first understanding the demographic and the issues they face through regular interaction between us and women from less fortunate backgrounds, such as household help, college/institutional housekeeping staff, etc. We would also like to ensure that they work in a clean, safe, and sanitary environment while also ensuring that all their basic necessities are met and provided for in their workplace. Our team would also like to facilitate more opportunities for these women to receive vocational training so that they could further their growth and slowly move towards a more formal working sector. Beyond this, we realise that a lot of women's health issues tend to go unnoticed, and would like to research and educate on the prominent health issues faced by women in India, and take action in ways such as providing labour and pregnancy facilities for less fortunate women. We would also like to break the stigma surrounding menstruation and provide better accessibility to menstruation products to young girls and women.
