" I am very interested because of the exposure I will receive from this opportunity to make an impact and at the same time to create a change. Also the adaptability for all the students around the world. It's feasible and at the same time its efficient and innovative way to inspire young minds to lead the world. Together we all can achieve what a lot of leaders fails to do. This platform gives us that opportunity to lead as leaders, work as commoners but make impact as revolutioner. "
Millennium Fellowship Project: Anandi: Fulfilled Futures
Our Team's primary focus is going to be Women's Health and Education, while placing extra importance on those women from rural areas. We plan to do so by first understanding the demographic and the issues they face through regular interaction between us and women from less fortunate backgrounds, such as household help, college/institutional housekeeping staff, etc. We would also like to ensure that they work in a clean, safe, and sanitary environment while also ensuring that all their basic necessities are met and provided for in their workplace. Our team would also like to facilitate more opportunities for these women to receive vocational training so that they could further their growth and slowly move towards a more formal working sector. Beyond this, we realise that a lot of women's health issues tend to go unnoticed, and would like to research and educate on the prominent health issues faced by women in India, and take action in ways such as providing labour and pregnancy facilities for less fortunate women. We would also like to break the stigma surrounding menstruation and provide better accessibility to menstruation products to young girls and women.
About the Millennium Fellow
Vanshika Awasthi is a young 18 year old girl whose keen interest lies in women empowerment and their safety. We live in a world where we say when a woman is guarded the whole nation is guarded yet we fail to protect them. She has a strong sense of empathy and apathy. Vanshika has never wavered from standing for people's right and has always tried there is justice among the fellows. She stands strong on her opinion but is also free to understand perspectives of other. She brings a whole lot other than this on table. She bring confidence, clarity, compassion, efficiency and groundness at the same time.
