Shahjalal University of Science & Technology | Sylhet, Bangladesh | Advancing SDG 4, SDG 5 & UNAI 9

" As I witness firsthand how village people are deprived of education and other opportunities. I am very passionate about community services, especially the development of marginalised people. From the beginning of my university life, I have been actively working with voluntary organizations. I have a strong communication, hard work and adaptation skills that helps me to work in this sector. As I am an undergraduate student I have some lack of resources and guidelines in project planning, so being a part of the Millennium Fellowship will enhance all my skills. I hope the Millennium Fellowship will help me make my social impact more effectively aligned with the UNAI principles and SDGs. I hope this program will help me to increase all my leadership skills and create the opportunity to connect with other fellows. I envision developing my learning and creativity skills throughout my journey with MCN. "
Millennium Fellowship Project: Learning Seed
Our project “The Learning Seed” was designed to help the underprivileged children of a marginalized village named Tior Gaon for our initiative where poverty-stricken families live at a subsistence level. Millennium Fellows of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology participate in this initiative directly in the families to facilitate Quality Education (SDG 4). As we are all students, we, unfortunately, couldn't do much for the children due to financial constraints. However, we purchased pen, writing sheets and some chocolates as a mood-booster and distributed among the children. Later, we met the parents and engaged in an inclusive discussion about the importance of education as well as its private and social benefits to spread awareness among them. By promoting both educational resources and awareness, Learning Seed plants the foundation for sustainable change, stronger communities, and brighter futures aligned with SDG 4.
