Millennium Fellowship Project: Building Sustainable Waste Management Systems in Cameroon

The National Conference on Waste Management is a project born from a deep desire to see our communities cleaner, healthier, and more dignified. Every day, young people across Cameroon witness how waste affects our neighborhoods, our environment, and even the futures we hope to build. This conference brings us together—students, youth leaders, community members, and experts—to talk honestly about these challenges and, more importantly, to co-create practical solutions that can truly make a difference.
In the spirit of the Millennium Fellowship, the project focuses on empowering young people to lead with purpose, compassion, and responsibility. Through open conversations, hands-on workshops, and shared experiences, participants learn how to turn their ideas into community-based projects that reduce waste, promote recycling, and inspire others to take action.
What makes this conference special is its human touch: it values every voice, encourages collaboration, and builds a sense of shared responsibility for our environment. It reminds us that meaningful change begins with ordinary people choosing to care a little more each day.
By connecting our efforts to global goals like SDG 11, 12, and 13, we hope to spark a movement of young leaders committed to creating cleaner cities, healthier families, and a more hopeful future for Cameroon.
