" I firmly believe that quality education, resources, and opportunities are the foundation for individuals to thrive and grow. Yet, I have also seen how unequal access holds back many in our society. Having benefited from the support and opportunities that shaped who I am today, I feel a deep responsibility to give back by working towards a world where every individual, regardless of background, has a fairer chance to succeed. My passion for promoting equality of opportunities drives me to join the Millennium Fellowship, as I believe even small contributions can spark ripples of change. Through this platform, I hope to transform my vision into action that helps reduce inequality and empowers communities. "
Millennium Fellowship Project: Open Doors Lebanon
"Open Doors Lebanon is an independent social-impact initiative led by Millennium Fellow Lenie Lteif that aims to reduce educational inequality by supporting underprivileged students across Lebanon in accessing higher education and career opportunities. Many Lebanese students - particularly those in public schools and underserved regions - lack reliable guidance, mentorship, and awareness of scholarship pathways. This project seeks to bridge that gap by providing free, accessible resources and personalised support.
From August to December, Open Doors Lebanon will deliver a series of online seminars led by university students. These sessions will introduce students to topics such as scholarship applications, university readiness, career exploration, and international opportunities. In parallel, the initiative will develop and publish a digital ""Opportunity Guide"", a comprehensive resource compiling scholarships, universities, vocational programmes, and guidance tips. The guide will be shared through a dedicated social media platform with the aim of reaching as many students and young adults as possible by the end of the Fellowship period.
By equipping marginalized youth with knowledge, tools, and access to networks, Open Doors Lebanon seeks to empower them to pursue meaningful academic and professional futures. The project directly advances SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities) by promoting equal access to tertiary education and supporting the inclusion of underserved students in Lebanon."
