" Words can make impact, but actions will always be more powerful. University studies and other involvements I have had have given me the words for my thought, so I am now eager to act on them, and act on inequality and human rights. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Open Doors Lebanon

Open Doors Lebanon is an independent project led by Millennium Fellow Lenie Lteif. The initiative addresses educational inequality by providing marginalized and underprivileged students in Lebanon with access to quality education opportunities, mentorship, and career guidance. The project aims to collaborate with local schools, alumni networks, and educators to deliver seminars, mentorship programs, and a free digital “Opportunity Guide” that highlights scholarships, universities, and vocational pathways.
During the Millennium Fellowship period (August-December 2025), Open Doors Lebanon will organize at least five seminars across underserved regions, build a mentorship network connecting 50+ students with professionals, and create a resource platform reaching over 300 youth. By empowering students with knowledge and connections, the project seeks to inspire them to pursue meaningful academic and career paths, contributing to a more equitable future in Lebanon.

About the Millennium Fellow

Owen Tsai is a Philosophy, Politics and Economics student at University College London. He was born and raised in Hong Kong and currently lives in the UK. Originally entering the degree from a curiosity in the three listed disciplines, his studies has transformed that curiosity into passion for politics, inequalities, human rights and social change. Having been involved in many politics-related publications, projects and organisations, including UCL's very own United Nations Association, he is now eager to apply and further sharpen his skills as a impact-seeking Millennium Fellow.
