" A chance to develop my communication skills. It stands to reason that ideas are only as good as, and as well as, they are shared. This fellowship is a chance to better understand the ways I can realise these dreams. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Heated Water for All

Northern Uganda is considered a semi- arid area that's comprised of mainly a rural population. This rural population uses firewood in most cases to cook and as a fuel to almost any use of fire but, that's the issue right there, the firewood use causes vegetation to decrease, the temperatures go up and the cycle can only be described as a "slippery slope". My project is basically a concave mirror with a pedestal in the centre where the sun rays will be focused. This is where cooking containers can be placed to be heated. With this, I know the amount of firewood used in the area for cooking will greatly decrease. This project intends to make this "solar water heater" as affordable or better said available to the average person in Uganda that has a rather low income per capita.
