" "I believe privileged comes with duty, the duty to stand with those who are often unheard and create opportunities for change. Through the Millennium Fellowship, I'm excited to deepen my impact, learn from diverse perspectives, and turn ideas into tangible solutions for my community." "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Sister Concern

Sister Concern is dedicated to educating communities about menstrual hygiene management, especially among underprivileged groups. The project conducts awareness sessions, interactive workshops, and open discussions to break taboos and promote safe practices. By reaching girls and women who lack proper access to information and resources, it works to empower them with knowledge and confidence.

About the Millennium Fellow

Nadia Alam Borsha is a first-year undergraduate student from Bangladesh, currently pursuing a degree in Marketing. Guided by the principle that “privileged comes with duty,” she believes that having opportunities comes with the responsibility to create a positive difference in the world.
Her dream is to one day own her own firm, driven by a passion for entrepreneurship as a means to build something that reflects her values while giving back to society. Nadia envisions leading a business that grows sustainably while making meaningful contributions to the community and environment.
She identifies discipline, critical thinking, and problem-solving as her core strengths, qualities she believes are essential for managing a successful enterprise. For Nadia, leadership is not just about directing others, but about taking initiative, being responsible, and guiding people with empathy.
Her commitment to service began in the seventh grade, when she started volunteering. One of her most notable projects was a campaign to make menstrual hygiene products more affordable and to raise awareness about menstrual health. Through interactive sessions aimed at breaking stigma and empowering girls, she gained valuable experience in leadership, organization, and purpose-driven work.
Currently, Nadia volunteers at Give Bangladesh, contributing to projects that rehabilitate sex workers and protect children’s rights. These experiences, while challenging, have strengthened her belief that true leadership means standing alongside those who are often ignored or marginalized. They have also deepened her commitment to empathy, teamwork, and service.
Beyond academics and volunteering, Nadia participates regularly in debates, sharpening her communication and critical thinking skills. She is also an avid reader, which broadens her perspective, and enjoys baking as a creative outlet that teaches patience and attention to detail.
For Nadia, success is not measured by personal recognition but by the positive impact made in the lives of others. She remains committed to staying true to her values, continuously learning, and creating meaningful change wherever possible.
