Millennium Fellowship Project: YouthEM

In Bangladesh, ‘Graduate Unemployment’ problem occurs as graduates struggle to get jobs or pursue entrepreneurship due to lack of in-demand skills. Aligning with SDG-8: Decent Work and Economic Growth, our project, “YouthEM” aims to bridge the skill gap among university students by empowering them with career-ready skills to stand out in the rapidly evolving job market. In this project, through 16 interactive online workshops, participants will learn essential hard and soft skills: communication, creative and systems thinking, public speaking, Canva, article writing, presentation, etc. that will be designed in collaboration with experts and partner organizations to ensure high-quality training. To enroll in this program, learners will pay a small fee of 500 taka ($4.11) that will be pooled and distributed as funding among the winners of a post-workshop competition where participants will solve real-world challenges using their newly-learnt skills. Besides, we will build a network of like-minded youths by creating an online platform to keep participants connected with opportunities, competitions, and job circulars. Bridging the skill gap, fostering innovation and career-readiness; YouthEM will help university students to shape their future and make a positive impact in their life as well as in the economy.
