" Social entrepreneurship has always excited me. My journey began in grade 11, when I had written several academic and non-academic pieces but couldn’t find a platform to publish them. After reaching out to teachers without success, my Economics teacher suggested, ‘Why not start your own platform where students can share their journeys?’ Initially, I was reluctant, but the idea grew on me. By the summer of 2022, I launched Academic Odyssey—a community-driven initiative to democratise higher education information. Today, it not only provides a space for students to share their stories—over 30 from four continents so far—but also serves a deeper purpose for me. Coming from Mukerian, a small town in Punjab with limited awareness of higher education opportunities, I wanted to bridge that gap for others who may not have had the same access I did. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Crafting Better

Crafting Better is a creative-wellness initiative at the intersection of psychology, art, and commerce. Inspired by our early exposure to mental health challenges within our own family, my sister and I recognised a larger gap - the lack of awareness, support, and economic opportunity for individuals in rural India.
To address this, we founded Crafting Better in late 2024, using art-based workshops as a tool for mental relief, confidence-building, and skill development. We conduct skill-based sessions that provide both emotional support and employability, and we help participants sell their handcrafted products through exhibitions and curated platforms.
In just six months, we have conducted three workshops, supported over 20 rural women, and participated in 5 exhibitions, selling 200+ articles and generating ₹300,000+ in revenue - all reinvested to expand our impact.
Our mission is to build a sustainable ecosystem that supports “the Bharat” - individuals who need mental health support the most - by empowering them to be self-reliant, confident, and financially independent.

About the Millennium Fellow

My name is Aditya Ohri, and I come from Mukerian, Punjab. Growing up, I was a chubby 4th grader who moved to a boarding school in Ajmer, where I discovered my love for cricket. It taught me resilience and self-belief, which helped me transition into a more academic-focused lifestyle. I graduated as Valedictorian and Academic Captain, leading over 800 peers.
Now, as a third-year B.Com (Honours) student at SRCC, I served as the President of the Finance and Investment Cell, leading a team of 80+ to drive impactful initiatives. Outside of academics, I founded Academic Odyssey, a social initiative dedicated to promoting higher education in underrepresented communities, reaching over a million people.
In my downtime, you’ll find me in a college corridor, book in one hand and Red Bull in the other—my alternative to the library. If there’s one thing that sums me up, it’s that I'm a caffeine-driven problem-solver with a passion for exploring new fields, which brings me here today.
