" I believe economic development and sustainability must progress hand-in-hand, not as separate priorities. My vision is to create low-cost, community-driven solutions rooted in both local needs and ancient sustainable practices. The Millennium Fellowship will give me the platform, guidance, and mentorship to turn small, local actions into lasting change—proving that even modest steps can create a sustainable future with long-term impact. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Local Climate Action Lab

Local Climate action Lab would be a hands on initiative that helps small businesses, street vendors and local community to adopt green habits. It will focus on affordable sustainability solutions to reduce the wastage of energy and reduce the impact of climate change on the indigenous societies. The actions that would be taken would include:- 1) Assessment of local businesses on how much eco friendly they are and identify the areas for improvement. Once research is conducted I wish to suggest some practical low cost solutions to the business owners. 2)Changing the layout of the way sustainability is approached. Creatively label the dustbins, reminder stickers for saving energy and depiction of real world problems through wall murals. Make people aware and concerned while giving them solutions. 3) Adopting local vendors to introduce affordable, low waste alternatives. 4) Awareness camps. One for small businesses to make them aware about the govt schemes on sustainability, CSR grants and subsidies. Local awareness through webinars in school, colleges and residencies. In all awareness campaigns sustainable business practices and financial strategies for going green would be pitched in. 5) Reducing impact on Indigenous societies by integrating traditional ecological knowledge into modern sustainability efforts.
