" I believe the fight for our planet begins with awareness and grows through action. My passion lies in empowering young people to see sustainability not as a distant ideal, but as something they can shape with their own hands — creating change makers who carry hope and responsibility into the future. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Project Prithvi

Project Prithvi ("Earth" in Sanskrit) will integrate environmental sustainability with experiential education by collaborating with local schools to establish "Green Classrooms." These innovative outdoor learning spaces will be designed to teach students about climate change, sustainability, and environmental stewardship. We will construct these spaces using recycled and eco-friendly materials, demonstrating the importance of resource conservation and creative reuse. Alongside the physical spaces, we will conduct interactive workshops on topics such as composting, urban gardening, and renewable energy, equipping students with practical skills to address environmental challenges. By combining hands-on learning with real-world applications, Project Prithvi will foster a deeper understanding of environmental issues and inspire students to take actionable steps toward a sustainable future. Our goal is to create engaging, inclusive spaces where students can connect with nature, ask questions, and develop a sense of responsibility toward the planet. Through this project, we aim to empower the next generation to become proactive environmental leaders in their communities.

About the Millennium Fellow

Divyanshi Kumar is an undergraduate student at Shri Ram College of Commerce, deeply moved by witnessing the changing environment in India — from extreme heat waves to worsening air quality. These realities have inspired her to take action, channeling her energy into initiatives that make sustainability tangible for young people. She works closely with schools and communities to foster a deeper connection with nature, believing that early awareness can spark lifelong responsibility. With a vision of a greener, more resilient future, Divyanshi strives to empower the next generation to lead climate action in their own communities.
