Millennium Fellowship Project: Project Delta

Project Delta tackles pollution and climate
change by giving farm stubble a new life.
Instead of burning it, which pollutes the air, we're
turning it into a sustainable replacement for
plastic. Think of all the plastic bags, food
containers, and packaging that end up in landfills
– they're not biodegradable and often made from
fossil fuels, contributing to global warming.
Project Delta offers a solution.
We use the cellulose from leftover crop stubble,
like rice straw or wheat stalks, and combine it
with non-edible vegetable oil to create a new,
eco-friendly material. This material can be used
to make things that are currently made from
plastic.
This is good news for everyone. Farmers earn
extra money by selling their stubble instead of
burning it. The air becomes cleaner because
there's less smoke. And, we reduce our
dependence on harmful plastics, which helps
protect our planet. Project Delta is all about
recycling stubble to create a win-win situation for
farmers, the environment, and future
generations.
