Millennium Fellowship Project: Shiksha se
Education which is a fundamental right, yet
many students, especially from marginalized
communities, face barriers in accessing quality
learning. Through my project I'm focusing particularly the education sector. Shiksha
Pravah aims to bridge these gaps by promoting
education to these kids, and marginalized
communities and being just school books we conducted sessions in digital literacy,
gender-inclusive classrooms, menstrual hygiene
education, and comprehensive sex education
. Classrooms Through this project, i aim to foster an
equitable, informed, and inclusive educational
ecosystem, ensuring that every student,
regardless of gender or background, receives
holistic learning opportunities.
About the Millennium Fellow
Pooja Mahaldar is a passionate and impact-driven economics student with a strong inclination towards policy, data analysis, and social change. She is currently pursuing her Bachelor’s in Economics (Honours) in her third year, from Delhi University and has already built a diverse portfolio of experiences in Marketing, Advocacy, and youth leadership. Born and raised in Delhi, Pooja has embraced opportunities across India and beyond, from interning with leading organizations like MakeMyTrip and SRF Foundation to representing youth voices as a Youth Advisor at YuWaah, UNICEF. Pooja has been deeply committed to causes close to her heart — women’s empowerment, education equity, and digital literacy. Her drive for meaningful change has translated into impactful projects such as KARM Awaaz to empower girls, leading gender and economic well-being campaigns, and facilitating digital literacy workshops for women.
