" Empathy, inclusivity, and a deep belief in equal opportunities drive my passion for empowering young minds to flourish. Being part of the Millennium Fellowship will allow me to expand these efforts collaboratively, creating platforms where young voices are truly heard and valued. The skills and networks I gain will help align my initiatives with the UNAI principles and SDGs, making my impact more sustainable and far-reaching. I am excited to transform vision into action, empowering more young people to dream boldly and achieve their fullest potential. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Project Vriddhi

Project Vriddhi aligns with SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth and focuses on strengthening the livelihoods of small and informal entrepreneurs who contribute silently yet significantly to the local economy. Many of these business owners including tiffin providers in Kamla Nagar, metal scrap vendors in Mukarba Chowk, and even independent plant sellers working within neighbourhood networks, have limited visibility and lack access to consistent customers or digital platforms. Through field engagement and direct interactions, the initiative aims to understand their work models, challenges, and aspirations. Based on this understanding, we support them through professional branding, digital enablement and by linking them with reliable customer bases and platforms such as Swiggy or Zomato, WhatsApp, OLX, and Indiamart. Small yet impactful actions like recommending the plant seller for institutional gifting or connecting vendors to college and residential communities represent the practical and human-centred nature of this initiative.
This project goes beyond technical support and acts as a bridge to dignity, recognition and long-term stability. By helping entrepreneurs strengthen their presence, communicate their identity and independently manage sales channels, Project Vriddhi encourages a shift from uncertain income patterns to a more confident and sustainable ecosystem. The intention is not only to help these businesses grow but also to build a culture where local work is valued, local skill is acknowledged and every small enterprise has the opportunity to thrive with pride and visibility.
