" I have seen how students from underprivileged backgrounds struggle with competitive exams without proper guidance or resources. The Millennium Fellowship offers a chance to learn from diverse perspectives, understand what makes educational initiatives sustainable and scalable, and refine my approach. By connecting with peers and mentors, I hope to build thoughtful solutions that truly expand access to quality education and reduce inequalities. "
Millennium Fellowship Project: Project Udaan
I want to start a project focused on providing free education to underprivileged students. The initial plan is to connect with students in nearby government schools and onboard them, along with their schools. Although many of these students may not regularly attend classes, they understand the importance of education. We will specifically target these students and enlist the help of volunteers from top colleges in the North Campus, Delhi University. These undergraduates will be academically proficient and possess a strong sense of empathy for social causes. They will tutor these underprivileged children free of charge, covering the academic curriculum and addressing the challenges faced in government schools, where there is often a significant lack of quality education and opportunities. We plan to invite the students to our colleges after our regular hours, using the college classrooms to conduct lessons. I aim to hold classes at least three times a week. As our volunteers work with the students and we receive positive word-of-mouth referrals, we hope to onboard more underprivileged students and expand our reach. As the number of students increases, we will also recruit more capable, socially driven volunteer tutors to support them
