Millennium Fellowship Project: Hearing Loss Prevention Awareness
The proper ear care and hearing loss prevention awareness is a community-based advocacy initiative dedicated exclusively to the hearing health needs of youth in Jamasi. The project covered these areas. • Ear care awareness campaigns
• Interactive and practical workshops
• Free hearing screenings
• Referral support for suspected cases
The project emphasizes attitude change, stigma reduction, and empowerment. The youth were encouraged to adopt safe listening habits, seek early care for ear-related issues, and advocate for hearing health among their peers. A strong partnership with the Hearing Assessment Centre at Jamasi School of the Deaf ensured professional support for screening, diagnosis, and referrals.
