" I grew up knowing that it takes a village to make a difference and impact one's life. I want to build a village within the University that students can look up to. Many students are struggling and I want to create a safe space for them and help decrease hunger on campus. I do this because I'm passionate about giving back and lending a hand where I can. I strongly believe that the Millennium Fellowship will guide me on how to achieve the goals I have. It will provide me with the correct skills and help me advance the skills I already have. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: CARE Foundation

My project is divided into three parts, where it focuses on a short-, medium- and long-term goal. My focus is on poverty mainly on hunger. The first part of my project addresses hunger on campus and is the long-term goal. It requires me to find a sponsor or sponsors to help with supplying students with food vouchers. It might be difficult to find sponsors, but it is not impossible because I'm determined. The second part of my project is a medium-termed. The idea is to host an entrepreneur's day where students who are willing to volunteer their time, skills and resources can come sell anything, offer their skills or even showcase their talents. With the money received on that day, food will be bought and distributed to students and the community. This will be hosted once every month if possible. The last part of my project is the short term one which is students orientated. Students will come together to share meals that they have cooked or tinned goods with other students who don't have food. My project seeks to address hunger, not on my own but with the help of the community, creating a community that helps each other.
