Millennium Fellowship Project: UFH GBV FIGHT
UFH GBV FIGHT
UFHGBVFIGHT, created by Mangope Rakgokong, is a digital platform dedicated to combating Gender-Based Violence within the University of Fort Hare community and beyond. The project provides a safe, anonymous space for students and community members to report GBV incidents, share experiences, and seek help without fear or stigma.
The platform connects users with qualified professionals — including counsellors, social workers, and legal advisors — who offer immediate guidance and support. UFHGBVFIGHT also drives awareness through educational campaigns, community dialogues, and resources aimed at prevention and empowerment.
Built with the colours white and purple, the project symbolises safety, healing, and solidarity. UFHGBVFIGHT’s mission is simple: break the silence, protect the vulnerable, and fight GBV through accessible technology and collective action.
About the Millennium Fellow
Mangope Johannes Rakgokong. A young man that grew up in limpopo, south africa under the supervision of a very wise grandmother, he studied electrical engineering and later switched to law. He believed in fighting for others rights and equality. In his journey he is currently a chairperson of a very huge residence , Georgian Gardens residence, he is an activist, advocating for equality in his community.
