Millennium Fellowship Project: Save the Water Life
Save the Water Life Project is an initiative meant to save the water bodies and its living organisms in Ghana from the destructive actions caused by illegal mining activities also known as Galamsey. This in turn will promote good health as the indigenes in such areas would have access to clean water, preventing water-related diseases.
About the Millennium Fellow
Emmanuella Mensah is a young, ambitious student currently pursuing Banking and Finance at the University of Ghana.
She was born in Accra, specifically in the Greater Accra Region of Ghana.
For as long as she could remember, she had always been committed to the sustainable development goals of quality education, gender equality and an end to poverty.
This drive was actually triggered by childhood memories. Watching documentaries focused on the rural communities of Ghana on the television as a growing child, she saw how they sat on the floor, put their books on the floor to write and could even come to school with an empty stomach.
Seeing this, she has always been passionate about creating a foundation to support the kids in the rural communities in the country.
Furthermore, growing up as a brilliant student and best in her class, she saw how the male top student was always made the class prefect whiles she was the assistant.
This has equally stirred up the conviction in her to create a foundation purposely to empower young ladies to discover their innate capabilities in order to keep on raising the bar.
Fortunately to be part of the Millennium Campus Fellowship, she aims to contribute immensely to these sustainable development goals.
