" The Millennium Fellowship program offers me the opportunity to “learn on the job”. Although, I have been actively involved in social impact projects in the form of medical outreaches to communities, I have had to figure things out as I go. I believe this program will be instrumental in my training to become an effective and efficient leader as I continue to do my best to ensure that quality healthcare is accessible and affordable to everyone, regardless of their social class or economic background. "
Millennium Fellowship Project: The Norvi Mental Health Initiative
Norvi' – meaning 'friend' in Ewe – was chosen as the name of this project to remind medical students that they are not alone in their mental health predicaments. It is a project aiming to empower medical students to be advocates and protectors of their wellbeing, thereby improving their mental health outcomes.
